Olivares and his band, Latin Spice, perform music that is best described as "Latin World Beat." Mario's brand of guitar is a mixture of flamenco and Arabic melodies, romantic boleros and a touch of Latin Jazz, with the foundation of Spanish Classical guitar.
Olivares' band plays with passion and romance with the corazon (heart) of the bolero. With Mario's virtuoso guitar melodies beautifully complementing all of the instruments, the romance of music is all in their hearts. That is why they have been called "San Diego's most romantic band."
The band has appeared on KUSI-TV Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon (San Diego), the XXXII Super Bowl Superfest, for Heart to Heart International, and for numerous benefits. Mario's Latin Spice has performed as the opening musical act for comedian and actor, Paul Rodriguez.
Mario's first independent release, Waterfall, and the new Wind and Rain CD are currently being marketed and promoted to a worldwide audience.
